For anyone who may be curious about the shipping date and arrangements...
Shipping Date:
On or about June 2, 2007
Shipping Arrangements:
As it stands, the games that are being shipped will be sent to a terminal near their destination.
The current shipper is ABF.
From that point, there are three choices:
1. You pick up the game from terminal.
2. A $35 fee to the carrier will get the truck to your door. YOU must make arrangements to get the game out of the truck...
3. A $85 fee to the carrier will get the truck to your door with a lift gate to lower the game to the ground.
* ABF will contact you.
* ABF will collect the freight charges.
This is the most currnet info. I have as of today.
When I receive the terminal locations from the carrier, I will do my best to post the info.... Otherwise, the carrier should contact you...
Here again, this is not yet set-in-stone! When it is, I'll pass it on to you...
You will be receiving a letter from Georgianna requesting your updated account information. Please help her by promptly completing and returning it as is in the letter.

Some usefull info:

Sales Tax rules:
1. If you live in Illinois: You get to pay 7.5% Illinois State sales tax...
2. Anyone picking up their game or anyone elses: 7.5% Illinois State sales tax is required for each machine...
3. Sales tax must be paid before the machine is released...
4. Machines being shipped by a shipping company (out of the State of Illinois) require no sales tax to be collected...
Spare parts: Ramps, pflds & plastics won't fit in the boxes w/ the games.
Stickers & dancers would but we're still debating packing them into the box... Lot's of chances for mistakes & damage...

Thanks for the information TOG!
Had a few questions, of course...
Any information for those thinking of picking their games up in Bloomington, is that an option and is there a plan for how that will work?
If one person from out of state is picking up multiple games (for friends that also live out of state), is sales tax due on all of the games or only for the one guy that is there in person?
Is sales tax 6% in Illinois?
Thanks again for all of your time and effort. Also thanks to Gene and everyone else involved in the project, I appreciate it.

What about using NAVL - is that an option? I know of a couple people nearby that would be willing to combine shipping; NAVL would be about 475 for two as apposed to 400+35+85 each. |

Yeah, ditto on the NAVL thing. A buddy and I are both getting one, and we live 13 miles away from each other. Seems silly to have to pay that much more shipping when we could combine... |

Does anyone have a contact name/number for someone at NAVL or ABL? I'd like to talk to them about consolidating shipping for a few people (and about other pins shipping).
(Unless anyone has any other shipping contact suggestions for machines outside this BBB project. Sorry to be off topic.)
Thanks!

Combined shipping sounds good to me also.
There are 2-3 games (that I know of) coming to Northern California.
Maybe they can be delivered to San Francisco (major airport) all at the same time.
Let me (us) know.
Thanks,

Let me point out something about alternate shipping arrangements that may have slipped your mind. It's easy for a business to schedule a pickup on a certain day with a commercial freight carrier (such as ABF). It MAY NOT be as easy with NAVL, as in my experience they show up on THEIR schedule, not mine. That means some complicated logistics that require extra effort on the part of the folks at PMI to handle the different carriers and pickup dates/times.
Certainly check with Georgianna, but I personally wouldn't want to make things any more complicated for Gene and crew at this point.

Hi Guys
I'm hoping we can figure out an alternative to ABF trucking. The best they can do is 200 miles(Eugene) from my home in Medford Oregon . We have all the big trucking companies here except ABF. It"s going to fun showing all the negative people on RGP, we have our BBB's !!! I'm counting down the days until BBB play begins!! Thanks to all that made this dream come true!!! |

I started this thread to help YOU get information on what is happening.
Unless you would rather be left in the dark until the last moment, I ask you not to go nuts on this topic too.
Hello, is anybody listening???
PLEASE DO NOT PESTER GEORGIANNA WITH SHIPPING QUESTIONS!
She doesn't have any more information than I have given you. I am actually trying to take some of the work-load off her.
Thank you for your understanding and co-operation in this matter,
