A Kingpin production run would be great! When there will be the board set re-produced, this makes hope that there will be also some more BBB's see the day of light???

This time, i am sure not to be too late ordering a KP (still on waiting list for a BBB but still in good hope to get one finally).

Just wondering if Gene will buy or "rent" Smile a KP to have a model when a something is unclear. (TOG told me, they often needed Gene's BBB proto at the beginning of production)

Thanks for hosting again Robert! This is incredible news! Any mention on production numbers? I would send my deposit in today if I could!

My guess on production numbers would be similar to BBB, but maybe more. I'm going to look at the two forums before I go up there in 2 weeks and get some good questions for KingPin.

My real question is with Gene over by $XXX,XXX.00 on BBB, how much will this cost?

I've *heard* that Gene is losing $1K-1.5K per BBB. That said, I'd imagine KP would sell for at LEAST $5500.

Gene was losing about $1,500 per BBB many months ago. Maybe that has increased further. $4,500 + $1,500 = $6,000 + new boards and other non-surplus parts + profit.......I'd guess KP would be more in the $7,000 to $8,000 range.

I hope I can play KP sometime. Might have to try getting to CAX (?) if that's the only show they visit. I know that there are people that feel that KP is more fun than BBB (better rules and shots I suppose). I personally don't care for the mobster/gangster theme and doubt that the art work (in spite of Stan's talent) would appeal to me. But until I see one in person and have a few (quick low scoring Confused ) games on one, who knows.

I think they will be able to seure more pre-orders for KP than they did BBB pre-orders. Gene has a proven track record with BBB, even the naysayers have to admit that BBB has been a great success. I think if KP happens, you will see more people jumping onto the bandwagon. A larger production run could help hold down the per unit cost??? Although, I do suspect it will be higher than BBB was.

I agree. Gene has proven his drive and desire to make a true collector's pinball machine and could probably double his orders for KP depending on price. Even if it is significantly more than BBB, these pinballs are different animals than a Stern production game. They are worth more given the desire to meet collector's demands for high quality and of course the production quantity is lower. Anyway, I'll pay more for KP than I did for BBB.

I have never seen a Kingpin, but I think it will take longer than BBB to complete, new boardset is a big ask, ROHS for our Europe collectors would also cost more with led displays etc.

I would think the price would be more like $7,000 US.

It would take a production team of former capcom guys, Hardware and software engineer which would add to the cost.

I wish them all the best and hope any new capcom games are made.

I had heard the software wasn't complete on KP.

Is that why you suggest a Software Engineer / Team too?

It's a bit rough but is complete from my experience with it. Also, Gene wouldn't need a software engineer or team, as I, as well as others on this forum (well BBB forum anyway) have offered to help with that, so that expense if even necessary would be minimal if Gene decided to go that route.
