I just thought I would pass this on so maybe someone else would benefit from it.
When I bought me Odyssey the screen would come up totally white.
I plugged a monitor into the video card and say the picture was working there. Going back to the monitor and checking things out, I found the adjustment card on the top of the machine. While checking some voltages I noticed the brightness pot did nothing. I turns out the brightness pot had a small crack in it. (looks like someone closed the door on it.) I installed a new 1k pot and that fixed the problem.

Hope this might help someone.
