Greetings from the Arizona desert. My name is Keith and I first saw the Odyssey at a Comdex show in Las Vegas at the MGM in the late 1990's. I was so impressed with it's graphics and sound, I actually didn't mind losing my cash just to play it. I already had two video poker machines at home, so getting one of these was a real desire.

In 2002, I read that SGI was not in business anymore, the machines had no more support and were starting to come out of the casinos, so I started searching for one. In July 2003, I acquired an Odyssey from Cactus Coin in Phoenix through Showcase slots in Las Vegas. Initially, I had some issues making the game reliable, but by the end of the summer of 2003, my machine was running continuously just like in the casinos. I went 2 years with no problems.

Then, a relative of mine stayed over night at my house, and didn't want the machine on, so she unplugged it at the wall and then replugged it in at the wall in the morning. Even though I had a surge protector, I lost the monitor (had to refurbish my monitor boards and replace the CRT). As of 9/6/05, I am now back up and running Laughing

I would like to thank Robert Winter for developing this forum, so all Odyssey owners can capitalize on synergy and learn valuable knowledge regarding trouble shoot of hardware and software issues with the machine. Also, I own one of Robert Winter's super hard drive's for the Odyssey with 15 games (this is a must for any Odyssey owner).

Attached is a picture of my son Anthony and myself (we hit a royal flush on the middle machine). My Odyssey on the left is serial number 41099, produced 8/97.
