Robert,
It looks like this flyback has two pin-like protrusions that the original flyback does not. What do you do with them? Other than that, it looks like the holes will line up. Thanks. |

I have not personally tried this flyback. I was given the information from a slot dealer I've dealt with regularly who sells/repairs Odysseys. _________________ Robert

I ended up buying a CT-8026 because that was the model number on the existing one. I believe my monitor is a Wells Gardner though. All the parts, boards etc. have WGxxxx part numbers on them.
However, after carefully replacing the flyback it is STILL dead. The tube makes a ticking noise now...about once a second, but that's all. No picture. You can hear the game menu functioning just fine though.
If ANYONE has ideas, please let me know. I'm getting desperate now. |

Sounds like your Horizontal output transistor is shorted |

Thanks for the suggestion. First, let me tell you that I have confirmed that my Odyssey is running a Wells Gardner monitor, so I was correct in using the CT-8026 flyback. Apparently, SGI used Wells Gardner on some earlier models but switched to Neotec for reliability reasons.
Where is the horizontal output transistor located? Is it something easily (and affordably) replaced?
In talking with a tech at LA Slots, they want me to replace the entire monitor with a Neotec.
Again, thanks for your input. |
