Considering that our BBB's will be shipping soon, I was thinking that if we each made a small donation we could have something made for Gene in order to show our appreciation for the incredible effort he made to see that these games get built and delivered. It would be especially nice to have this presented to him at Expo where the majority of us would be at one time. Is anybody else open to this idea? And if so maybe we can throw around ideas as to what can be presented to him.

You know, I was thinking the exact same thing. I was thinking about this earlier today while I was driving to work. But my gift giving creativity seems to be limited Confused

Anyway, I would like to participate in showing my appreciation to Gene and the entire crew. There are a host of folks that have put there heart and soul (and money) into BBB. I think it would be a very nice gesture.

I'm of course in. I know another member of this forum who was telling me that they were going to buy something really nice for Gene. I'll ask him what it was and maybe it'll be an idea we can kick around.

Now whether Gene will be at Expo this year, that's a different question. I don't know if that's a possibility for other reasons. I can't post the reason publicly, but maybe a different venue would be better.

Ok, looks like there are enough of us willing to go in on it. Im not the most creative person, so lets try to toss around some ideas as to what we can come up with. I was thinking to try to get a nice custom metal sculpture of a pinball machine sitting on a wooden square base where the base can contain a plaque containing a msg for Gene. Any thoughts, comments?

I think one of the most interesting "name tags" for BBB that I remember was "HOLY CRAP! Pigs really CAN fly!"

In that vein, I'd suggest a statue of a flying pig on a wooden base, with an appropriately engraved plaque with the same motto above. It should also have some engraving along the lines of "With humble appreciation, the Big Bang owners". If we can't get a flying pig statue then an engraved brass plaque on a wooden backing would be a reasonable substitute.
