Cute idea, but I think it doesn't do justice to the 'appreciation' part..
To me, I visualize something like a man carrying a pinball machine on his back, to show how Gene really caried the weight of the project all the way to the end, and never gave in..
I'm not really creative, but am hoping you guys get the idea of what I'd envision, and can come up with something great.

In that vein, I'd suggest a statue of a flying pig on a wooden base, with an appropriately engraved plaque with the same motto above. It should also have some engraving along the lines of "With humble appreciation, the Big Bang owners". If we can't get a flying pig statue then an engraved brass plaque on a wooden backing would be a reasonable substitute.

I have started to do some preliminary work on gift options, I will post an update soon. In the meantime please respond the the poll question I just submitted under the "Polls" section. Once I get a better idea of options I will setup up a paypal account and post the information for donations.

There was a very cool miniature BBB from a European craftsman on epay several months ago. I had thought to bid on it as a gift for Gene. Not sure if I bid or not... 
I still think it would be a cool gift to commission one for Gene... anyone have any knowledge of the person who did it? I will check my old epay stuff at home... I may have saved the selling page.
Just another thought.
