Does anyone know about the beginning of Capcom? Who made it happen and why? There seems to be a lot of reasons for it's downfall, but I'd like to know how it began.

Google old rgp posts for Futz's Capcom closing post. Brief history there when he mentions from Gamestar ( the reason Capcom flippers have the star on top ) to Capcom, and the people who gave their all in the effort. Sad reading when you think of a lot of the people who went above and beyond in their dedication to the company.

Maybe I should write Pfutz. We've e-mailed before about the Doctor Who Wobble Head. Gene told me what he knew, but we're suppose to discuss it further. Thanks for the look-up Lloyd!!! It Helps.

Pfutz e-mailed me back with some info about the beginning of Capcom. I should have enough. He did tell me that Capcom Japan gave them 4 years to be profitable or at least look profitable. It's a shame that BBB didn't make it in time. Who knows what other great games would have come along.

So Capcom cut them off before the four year mark.
The out come would have been the same unfortunately, no matter how great a game they built, the player base was being decimated before they were even building games.
Capcom had some truly gifted and talented people there, but were facing the same problem as the other manufacturers. They were losing more players than gaining, and no one machine or company can turn things around. |
