And TOG, we all know you and Dave have been a driving force in making this dream come true for all of us. I'm really glad that Gene found such responsible people with real attention to detail to make this come true. The BBB owners are in for such a treat.

Got a blue envelope in the mail today with the date of the pickup
However, no mention as TOG requested earlier in this thread about keeping it quiet until after the fact 
Someone has already posted the pick up date on RGP.
Hopefully no reason to be concerned, but I know I will feel better once it's sitting in my game room. |

I just talked to Gene and he said that there would be a Special Guest attending on June 2 and that registration started at 9:00am (I know, TOG already said that). I think he wanted to be sure that I was there for it for the video. I told him that Paul and I will be there on Thursday actually to assist with the "Hard Work" that TOG illuded to. Speaking of Hard Work, you guys should try making a BBB documentary - Sheesh! It's coming along nicely - a little slowly, but nicely. More in a different thread.

Wow, that sounds like fun. I wish I could make it. But, alas.........I'm one of the delivery folks who are waiting patiently for some sign of life.
And, I know exactly the amount of time, effort, sweat and tears that goes into making a documentary (and facsimiles there-of). Thanks for doing all this work for all of us. I can't wait to see it and cherish the time-line of the project forever.

For anyone that orders and pays for a BBB bat by Friday (6/01/07 - preferably sooner) and is not attending pick-up day:
I am willing to TRY and have your BBB bat signed by whomever you might wish. Just send me the order and instructions on whose signature(s) to try capturing for you.
I will try to do some testing of markers on the bat finish, but can't guarentee the permanance or durability of the signatures. I will use the best markers that I can find and have at least one light and one dark color available.
Anyone that buys a bat and will be at pick-up day can seek signatures on their own as I can deliver the bats Saturday. You may also buy a bat there. |

June 2, 2007
Today, is the day. Machines have been shipped (they left yesterday) and pick-up happens in just a few hours. The weather should be cooperating with us (Thursday dumped a ton of rain on us) and the tents are set up.
Unfortunatly, Gene's special guest will not be able to make it because of a family emergency.
I can't wait to meet everyone and hear what they think when they get thier machines.
Truely a great day in pinball history ahead.

Al,
Have you seen YOURS yet? Had a chance to play it?
When you saw #103, did you give it a hug before it left?
Can't...friggin....wait. (I'd be there to pick up, but I just can't. I'm a track coach, and the state track meet is TODAY. I'm heading off now to run my kids like sled dogs. Not exactly a meet I can skip (although, Georgianna did suggest it when I was on the phone with her...which I thought was cute)).

Sigh...
I wanted to fly out for this, but alas... It didn't come to fruition.
Ya'll have fun today, and I'll wait in anticipation for my machine to arrive while ya'll are playing yours!
This day has been a long time coming! Congrats to everyone at IPB and to us. The ones willing to believe in Gene. |
