Those pop bumper rings are the best. I never did like how the flat plastics just laid on top of the pops. The rings not only give it a 3D look, but bring more light to the area.
Keep up the good work guys! _________________ Robert

Can all the new parts (when completed) be purchased as a kit from Pinbits?
Also any plans on making a mylar kit for high wear areas?? _________________ BBB #131 |

Cliffy and Martin,
Welcome to the site... great to have you here. Nice stuff too
Howza bout some mylar for the drop targets - don't forget the underground and spinner and a couple for the ball drop areas. Might be a nice package. Also would be nice if you made these in the material used in the pinpal playfield protectors... not quite as tough as mylar, but easily removable and replaceable

I believe Martin wants to make a kit of all items and yes, a precut mylar kit too. I don't want to speak for him but I do know he's working on it. _________________ Cliffy

Keep the ideas coming and thanks, John. As for static vinyl, probably not. It's nice for the cabinet but would take a real beating on the playfield and it's relative thickness would affect ball roll. But then, who knows? _________________ Cliffy

Cliffy,
All of these items look great, Martin's Web Site indicated they are all sold out. Will there be more or did I miss out?

No one will miss out, Tom We just have to make more. He is leaving them up on his page for the pics, even though sold out right now. More on the way! Which begs a question I will pose in a separate thread... _________________ Cliffy

I would pre-order if Martin will set that up, I'm sure others would do the same.

Cliffy & Martin,
Any update on the availability of the tube rings and pop bumper kits?

1) Plastic guards and foam kits are available.
2) We now have inventory of pop bumper dress kits.
3) Still working on the rings. The template is completed, but I want to have one more go at a friction fit before we go to recommending silicone adhesive. If I were doing this again, I would have cut more sizing plates early in the process!
4) We should have metal for the Dartz hole tomorrow, testing this week.
5) Still working on the mylar design and process. |

Thanks for the update Martin. I'll keep looking so that I can get all four of the items for my BBB in one go!
Happy 4th

A little more detail on supply...
There are a couple of constraints. One is material; we have plenty on hand right now, with more coming. But we are being very careful to match colors, and hold back material for people who purchase one set but will later want the other. As we get more material in, life will be a little easier.
The second is design. The machine that we are working on (Kerry's) and the machines that cut the metal and plastic are all about 30 minutes apart from each other.
My next trip to Kerry's should resolve the ring sizing problem. And we should also get the mylar templates completed. Plus, we have the first metal in hand.
So a bit of work should see all this stuff in hand in the next few days. |
