And a couple of short videos showing a lit prototype playfield!

These first two links are the native files (3GPP format) that Kerry shot on his Treo. They are playable in Real Player.

These are the same clips converted to MPEG2 format. The files are MUCH larger, so try the 3GPP versions first.

Well here they are. These are the first 10 on the line. The lit up one is proto # 1. This was built to give the factory a reference. The playfields on the high shelves are samples with a single wiring harness on them to use as reference. The others on the desk are all samples to be tested. 4 of 10 are currently tested. {HEY this thing works !!!!! }

Again huge credit to Gene, Kim, Fred and many others for getting it done !!!!!

2 or 3 of these have passed tests and are going back down to Bloomington along with the original machine to start top side builds. Kind of exciting if you ask me !

The sheets next to each playfield show the status of the build. There are also seperate testing sheets filled out by the QA guy. I worked with the QA guy for a few hours yesterday and he is a sharp guy so I expect great things !! Full blown production on the bottoms should begin shortly.

The proto has the white disk in the center . . . all the others have the yellow disk. This was actually my bad as I grabbed from the wrong stack when I started. By the time Gene saw it it was a little late . . . I'm guessing he will eventually forgive me for that Shocked Shocked

Wow. I can't express how exciting this is to see. Great update, great pics, great info.

Kerry, a couple of questions: How long does it take to build up a bottom? I sure that this is currently a one or two person operation, but it seems like it would take me forever. Also, any unforseen problems or Capcom quirks that you've run into so far?

Thanks again for sharing. Very very cool.

Mike

At this time the company doing the work has only committed 3-4 employees part time . . . once final blessing / approval is granted they're thinking 2-3 per day will be completed. It will actually pick up speed as they go because they'll get better and faster. This is why pinball companies want to make larger runs . . . economy of scale comes into play quickly. 180 some odd machines means the build staff will just be getting good at it when its done . . .

U2 - What a beautiful day!

Thanks for the update, it's great!

P.S.regarding mikeflans question, are the G.I.problems solved, that some of the prototype machines have or had?

It is hard to add anything else that the others have not already said, so I'll just add to the chorus of "wow", "thanks", "super!".

This boosts my confidence an order of magnitude that you guys can do this!

It is worth the wait.

Kerry said he had the same problem with those converted MPEGs. I'm able to play both versions successfully on two different PCs, one running XP and another running 2000. Are you on a Mac by chance?

Anyone else having problems with the videos?

I couldn't run the MPEGs in Windows Media Player. It ran fine in Nero's video player though. It looks like it's recored in PAL format. Kinda strange.
