Gene graciously gave many BBB tours at expo. Pics will be forthcoming.
During the tour, Gene walked us by a whitewood on a light-table. It was for a Kingpin which is their next project! Gene plans on reproing the cpu board and do another rare Capcom run!

As much as I'd love to believe that, tell me you are joking? That seems to go against everything recently said about Gene's decision not to do another full machine.
If it is true, I'll send my deposit as soon as BBB gets here, or maybe now!
Regards,

It is true... I was keeping it under my hat, but was dying to say something at the same time. Kim had suggested that maybe she would feel better if it did not go public so soon. I figured word would get out soon enough.
Gene had mentioned that BBB buyers would get first shot, and would be able to order the same serial number as their BBB.
Look forward to your pictures Steve.

If this is true, and I have no reason not to believe folks here, that is fantastic news. Best news in a long time.
Attn: Robert Winter...Hope you are prepared to host the Kingpin Forum...LOL!
I can't imagine how many people are going to want one.
Sign me up for Kingpin!

I'm SO there you don't even know. I'm ordering one the minute I receive my BBB!
The Kingpin forum is up for anyone interested - open registration for now. If/when the KP project starts, all registered users will be deleted and only IPB-approved people will be allowed to re-register, unless IPB wishes it to remain open to the public.

Yeah, I asked Gene multiple times if he wanted to keep this secret. Later, Kyle and Metallic asked the same question and each time he said it was okay to make it public.

I would definitifely order a KingPin IN TIME!!!
It would be a sin to leave the experience blank of all the people (TOG, ..) that were involved in the BBB project.
And I still hope to get one of the remaining BBB's.

Oh, and folks, please don't start innundating Georgianna with phone calls to get on "the Kingpin list." Such a reaction would not be appreciated, and could close down the spigot of info to the group which seems to be opening now w/ Gene's blessings. The plan as it was explained to me, is that PMI would be contacting all of us in due time, and we'll get the first crack at putting in an order.
Okay?

Gene told me this as well on Friday. I think the CPU will be a big hurdle to get over, but it will help us BBB users with having replacement parts. He is looking for an original to compare to his drawings and such if anyone can help...
I'll talk to him more when I go up on the 17th.

Also: I have heard the "First Dibs - Same Number" thing from 2 independant sources and when Gene talked at Expo 2004, he stated something to that affect as well. I'm not worrying about getting on that list, we're all fine. Think of it from Gene's position, he knows who he's dealing with now - less hassles this way. _________________ Pins and Vids #4 - A New Hoax DVD, Available NOW at www.pinsandvids.com for only $12.00 plus shipping. |

I was under the impression that the software for Kingpin was in an incomplete state. If that's true, did Gene say how he expected to complete the software? (Tony quickly raises hand to volunteer.)

Robert, FYI, it looks like there's some sort of registration interaction between the two forums; if I log in to BBB then I'll need to log in to KP the next time I visit KP, and then I'll need to log in to BBB again when I come back.

I know everyone is really excited about the Kingpin announcement that Gene made.
This is the reality check from one of the "worker bees"
There are "plans" to produce this game. We have a lot of the ground work in front of us before we even think about starting production.
Just so everyone understands this.
The company that is doing such a great job populating our playfields will be heavily involved in this project also and they have definitely proven themselve to be very good at what they do.
Enjoy the announcement.

Kim,
I think everyone here, myself included, is well aware of the work that would be involved. We're just excited the reality of it is being seriously entertained. _________________ Robert
