This can also happen, but easy to settle:

If the left outlane kickback doesn't kick properly on slow balls, you have to move the switch as close to the bottom of the slot as possible.

There is a kicker ball saver if it doesn't shoot the ball back onto the playfield, but i think it's better when it works fine.
