Kati just sent me this picture - looks as though the backbox interboard wiring is coming together quite nicely.

Thanx a bunch for the backbox picture! Just waiting for the one where the previously talked about backbox flashers are mounted too! Wink

Love the pic!!

Is it more, or does the switches relay board seem out of place at the bottom of the head. Seems that when you mount the front panel with the DMD and it's controller board that those will touch each other, or at the very least, be crammed up against each other, which is not a good thing. I would have thought it might mount on the top left side of the head.

Of course, I am sure they are following the layout of the machine that Gene bought, but it just seems like an usual spot for that board when it's possible to touch the dmd boards which would sit in front of it when mounted..

Am I crazy?

@sellenoff

The boards in the backbox are situated like in Pinball Magic and Airborne, so it's ok.

Thanks for the confirmation, although I was more questioning Capcom's design choice, rather than assuming it a mistake by IPB, since I assumed they were using the BBB proto as a guide.

I wasn't totally sure though, so I"m glad you cleared it up.

So am I the only one who thinks it seems like an odd choice for Capcom to use?

I have checked my Airborne, and there is a gap of at least 3 cm (a good inch) between any component at the back of the DMD and the boards in the backbox. There's no risk at all that they would touch each other.
