How many people got the little Serial Speaker Board with their game?
I know of 2 that did, possibly 1 that didn't (although maybe he just never saw it initially).
The real question though is what the heck is it for? The manual shows it listed as a part, but no mention of it's purpose.
Anyone? Anyone? Buller? |

A little hint:
The board goes below the RH speaker on the speaker panel... _________________ "BBB 77" |

Can you give me a big hint then?
I looked under the right speaker and didn't see anything special or different than the left speaker, nor any connectors to hook up this serial board. Not even sure what it does really, there's nothing to it.
Can you shed some more light, plz! |

This is supposed to be a puzzle for you owners to figure out!
Here's some more:
1. It screws to the panel under the RH speaker...
(We left it off in case you didn't use it, ie. no extra screw holes)
2. There is one small jumper of wire required...

I got the board too - I suspect everyone got one. I'm pretty sure I've had a conversation with TOG about this, but don't remember what was said. Forgetting that fact until now, I had been thinking that it was for hooking up extrnal speakers. It looks like just a connector, no electronics, so I'm now thinking that it does nothing to alter the signal, so if it plugs in near the speaker, I'm thinking that it is for branching the amplified signal - so maybe the external speakers idea is right? |

Can you imagine BBB sounds through a really big, nice sound system? I had a friend over last night and we were marvelling at the richness of the sound coming out of the game! AWESOME |

Well, I replaced the standard speakers with high quality 3-way speakers, and it makes NO difference at all. I guess the signal is not good enough to really drive the tweeters. Maybe a subwoofer (with extra amp) would be more noticable, especially because there's a lot of bass in the tunes. If anyone tries that, I definately want to know if it's worth the trouble. |

OK, did anyone break the code on what the little board is for and how to use it?
Thanks

My BBB is Thumpin! I connected the serial speaker board to a 100 watt powered sub, and now the bar is rockin. Here's a few preliminary pictures of the mod. I still have to ground, and attach the board (couldn't bring myself to sink fresh screw holes in the back of the speaker panel yet). The last pic shows the line out. I just slid the RCA connector under the venting on the bottom of the game.
