Well, it's been a few days with 1.08b ROMs and I think I like them better. One of the strange things I never reported was that sometimes the music would cut out when I shot the ball. Sound effects would work, but then the music was silent. A few seconds later, it would come back. That problem is gone.

The Default high scores seem higher so I haven't scored a high enough score until today to get on the board so we'll see if the loosing of high scores is affected.

I don't plan to go back unless someone finds out what the differences are between versions and it's really a good idea.

Anyone know anything?

For what it's worth:

I have been using the ROMs that shipped with the game. There were a few issues that I thought were software bugs, but when I investigated the problems, it turned out that a few switches needed to be adjusted.
