Hi,

I hope this post finds everyone happy and in good health.

I am here to ask for your prayers and good thoughts for Gene.

He was hospitalized yesterday and is going to need heart surgery.
At this point we don't know if they are going to be able to put 4 stints in or if they are going to need to do full bypass surgery.

He has 4 blockages and they are in very small areas which I guess makes it difficult to place the stints. The specialist is supposed to meet with my folks today and come to a decision on what to do.

He is in good spirits and barking out orders to everyone, nurses included.

Please keep him in your thoughts

Kim, let Gene know we will be saying a prayer and thinking of him often. It has been one heck of a year for the Cunningham family. I know Gene to be a tough ol' cuss (it runs in the family Wink

) and am sure he will receive the best care and things will come out fine.

I just saw Gene this past weekend at the Herrin Il, Supershow, he looked great, was in good spirit and very talkative. You would have never known he was having any issue.

Keep your spirits up and know that you have a lot of pinball freinds who are here to help however needed.

Please know that Gene is in our thoughts and prayers! We wish him a *very* successful procedure and a speedy recovery.

Please tell your Mom that she, too, is very much at the forefront of the same thoughts and prayers! She's a real trooper and such a peach!! Smile

Thank you to everyone that has supported our family throughout all of our medical issues.

Gene will be having quadruple bypass surgery on Friday morning.

If anyone would like to send cards or emails I will make sure that he receives them.

Gene is so funny, last nite after we knew that he was going to need some type of surgery he looked at my mom and said, "Georgianna the York show is in a couple of weeks and I already have all my reservations made!!!" My mom just rolled her eyes. Rolling Eyes

IPB will be closed on Friday so that Kati and I can be with my Mom during Gene's surgery.

On one hand it is good to read Gene is still Gene, but it's sad to read he needs surgery. My prayers are with him and I hope everything will turn out fine.

I called Gene today to wish him well. He was very concerned about a problem I'm having with my BBB (we had discussed it before he went in the hospital) and I told him that that wasn't important, what was important was that he takes it easy and gets through the procedure tomorrow. He's also very concerned about being down for a while ( I think 4 week recovery). I held firm in telling him that he's in our prayers and we are all hoping for the best. The rest of the family there will keep things going. Kim asked me to call him because he's bored and worried (of course).

Please pray for Gene and the surgeon's skill to get him through the operation. Also pray for strength for the family.
