Last night one of the plastic drop targets in the three-bank assembly on my BBB broke; the ridge along the bottom of the target that keeps the target from rising out of the assembly broke off. I had some spares on hand that I had purchased for a Pinball Magic restoration, so my game was back in operation quickly. Installing the replacement was no big deal; I even managed to re-use the target decal.
The target itself is actually somewhat brittle; I was surprised to see that, as there was a picture on the old Bearcave forum that showed someone bending a target in two without it breaking.
FYI, Marco Specialties stocks the drop targets (PL-00325-W).

Tony:
Capcom made 2 different targets: the originals that broke and later, a better replacement. There is a way to tell whether a Capcom target is the old NOS vs the modified Capcom targets that were designed, I suppose, with more flex in mind.
However, since I hit 50 (I'll be milking this cop-out), I don't remember exactly other than there is a ridge or two on the back of the new drop target for more support, which was not in the first design.
Can someone under 50 help an old man across the street on this one? |
