Given that traffic on here has died way down it might help to have an automatic notification method available. The community might regain some of its vitality if people have an easy way to keep tabs without wasting time checking in only to find "no new posts".

So here is my idea...
Anyone that wants to receive notice of new posts subscribes by replying to this thread with the "Notify me when a reply is posted" box checked.

Then if each poster then would "bump" this thread (make a non-content post) which results in each "subscriber" getting notified.

If a poster does not wish to receive these notifications, but is willing to help the subscribers out, just make sure you don't check the notify box when you bump this thread. If someone sees that there is a new post, but that this thread has not been bumped, they can bump it and trigger the notices.

If this seems like a popular idea, perhaps this thread can be stickied for easy access.
